Mexico, Cosautlan, Washed

Round • Butterscotch • Milk Chocolate

Grown in Cosautlan, Veracruz at 1,350 meters, this washed lot comes
from one of the region’s historic coffee communities, where slightly
larger family farms are shaded by native trees like banana and ice
cream bean. During harvest, producers rely on family labor to
hand-pick coffee in cherry for centralized processing. At the mill, the
cherries are washed with spring water, fermented for 48 hours in
concrete tanks, and mechanically dried for 60 hours. The result is a
clean, balanced cup with gentle sweetness, soft citrus brightness, and
a rounded, approachable finish.

Coffee "C Market" Price - $3.09

Coffee is a globally traded commodity. As such, there is a market for trading coffee futures. This market price fluctuates based on many factors, but especially supply and demand. While, we do not buy many coffees based on the C Market, it does impact how coffee we purchase is priced.

Guilder's Price - $6.15

This is the final price we pay for this coffee. This includes any premiums we might pay to the producer to make sure they are receiving a sustainable margin. It also includes all of the logistics of moving the coffee from its place of origin to our roastery in the Alameda neighborhood of Portland, OR, USA.
