We are always blown away by the extraordinary care and attention that José puts into these naturals from his farm. Guatemala is known for high moisture during dry seasons, which makes drying naturals nearly impossible to do well. La Giralda has always been the exception to that, with extremely clean and expressive coffees and a consistency that is unmatched by anything we have ever seen.
Coffee "C Market" Price - $4.14
Coffee is a globally traded commodity. As such, there is a market for trading coffee futures. This market price fluctuates based on many factors, but especially supply and demand. While, we do not buy many coffees based on the C Market, it does impact how coffee we purchase is priced.
Guilder's Price - $7.54
This is the final price we pay for this coffee. This includes any premiums we might pay to the producer to make sure they are receiving a sustainable margin. It also includes all of the logistics of moving the coffee from its place of origin to our roastery in the Alameda neighborhood of Portland, OR, USA.
