Coffee "C Market" Price - $4.14
Coffee is a globally traded commodity. As such, there is a market for trading coffee futures. This market price fluctuates based on many factors, but especially supply and demand. While, we do not buy many coffees based on the C Market, it does impact how coffee we purchase is priced.
Cost of Production - $4.44
Through our Guilder Verified initiative, we work with our suppliers to calculate the costs the producer paid to farm this coffee. This includes things like fertilizer, paying workers to maintain and pick the coffee, as well as other expenses like maintenance and farm improvements.
Price Paid To The Producer - $5.71
This is the price per pound of coffee that has been paid directly to the producer of the coffee. In the case of a Guilder Verified coffee, our goal is to make sure the producer is receiving a sustainable margin.
Guilder's Price - $8.28
This is the final price we pay for this coffee. This includes any premiums we might pay to the producer to make sure they are receiving a sustainable margin. It also includes all of the logistics of moving the coffee from its place of origin to our roastery in the Alameda neighborhood of Portland, OR, USA.
