Ethiopia, Wuri, Washed

Black Tea • Floral • Peach

Around 850 smallholder farmers from 16 villages grow this coffee just south of Yirgacheffe in Worka-Sakaro, whose name comes from the Gedeo word for “gold.” Coffee covers more than half the land and is central to the culture and economy. “Wuri” means “high altitude,” fitting for farms that reach above 2,100 meters. After careful hand sorting, the cherries dry slowly on raised beds for 12–15 days and are turned constantly through the day. The result is a bright, complex cup.
