Ethiopia, Aricha, Washed

Black Tea • Blueberry • Bergamot

Grown at 1,950 meters in the rugged mountain community of Aricha, Yirgacheffe, this
washed coffee comes from very small farms rooted in one of the world’s oldest
coffee-growing traditions. Harvest often overlaps with the rainy season, when warm,
humid conditions nurture the coffee plants while muddy roads make fieldwork more
difficult. The coffee is fermented for 48–72 hours in cement tanks, then dried slowly
under parabolic plastic covers for 12–15 days. The result is a bright, floral cup with
layered sweetness, lively citrus acidity, and a delicate tea-like finish.

Coffee "C Market" Price - $3.09

Coffee is a globally traded commodity. As such, there is a market for trading coffee futures. This market price fluctuates based on many factors, but especially supply and demand. While, we do not buy many coffees based on the C Market, it does impact how coffee we purchase is priced.

Guilder's Price - $8.10

This is the final price we pay for this coffee. This includes any premiums we might pay to the producer to make sure they are receiving a sustainable margin. It also includes all of the logistics of moving the coffee from its place of origin to our roastery in the Alameda neighborhood of Portland, OR, USA.
