Decaf, Colombia, Amigos Del Huila
TOFFEE - ORANGE - MILK CHOCOLATE
2025 Amigos Del Huila brings together microlots from 14 smallholder producers across Huila. Each lot is the result of attentive ecological practices: ripe cherry selection, thoughtful fermentation—often in sealed GrainPro bags or traditional tanks—and slow, shaded drying over 2–3 weeks. The result is a decaf that reflects the clarity, care, and connection we seek in every cup. We’re proud to bring you this beautiful, caffeine-free expression of Huila and the producers behind it.
The Sugarcane Decaf Difference
The EA (ethyl acetate) decaffeination process uses a naturally derived compound from sugarcane to gently remove caffeine while preserving flavor. It’s a clean, careful method that aligns with our values—sourcing decaf that’s as vibrant, sweet, and expressive as the coffees we serve every day, just without the caffeine.
Coffee "C Market" Price - $2.65
Coffee is a globally traded commodity. As such, there is a market for trading coffee futures. This market price fluctuates based on many factors, but especially supply and demand. While, we do not buy many coffees based on the C Market, it does impact how coffee we purchase is priced. The price shown is reflective of the market at the time that we contracted this coffee.
Price PAID TO THE PRODUCER - $2.31
Often referred to as 'farm gate', this is the price paid directly to the producers for their coffee. This can be the coffee in various forms like raw cherry, coffee in parchment (a protective shell around the inner bean), or completely ready to go green coffee. In this case, it references coffee in parchment, that will still need to be milled to remove the shell.
Guilder's Price - $5.55
This is the final price we pay for this coffee. This includes any premiums we might pay to the producer to make sure they are receiving a sustainable margin. It also includes all of the logistics of moving the coffee from its place of origin to our roastery in the Alameda neighborhood of Portland, OR, USA.
